What is your spiritual gift?
What is your spiritual gift?
What is your spiritual gift? Do you know what one is? One might say “I am nice to poor folks,” or “I cook well,” or even, ” I never tell lies.” Those may sound good at first, but those are talents of the carnal world. Sure, one may do those things well, but are they spiritual gifts in of themselves or do they result in spiritual gifts, like love, teaching, or showing mercy?
Below is one list of spiritual gifts. Read and reread the list to see what aligns best with how you are created. Pray on them asking God to reveal their presence in your life. Below them, are verses that detail spiritual gifts. Pray and ask God to reveal yours. At the bottom, there are brief closing comments and words of encouragement, which is my spiritual gift.

Ephesians 4:11-13
11 And He gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, some as pastors and teachers,
12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ;
13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.
1 Corinthians 12:7-11
7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
8 For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit;
9 to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,
10 and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.
11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.
Romans 12:6-8
6 However, since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to use them properly: if prophecy, in proportion to one’s faith;
7 if service, in the act of serving; or the one who teaches, in the act of teaching;
8 or the one who exhorts, in the work of exhortation; the one who gives, with generosity; the one who is in leadership, with diligence; the one who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
1 Corinthians 13:13
13 But now faith, hope, and love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
What spiritual gift applies to you?
Did you find more than one spiritual gift that applies to you? That is possible! God has placed more than one in me, too. Encouragement is my spiritual gift. But how do I go about administering encouragement? He allows me to demonstrate it through teaching, leading, serving, discipling and being discipled. Do you see we will have more than one? God is amazing and loves you. He created you to be so much more than your mind can conjure.
Understand, the greatest of these is love. His love for you. His love to you. His love in you. His love through you and His love shown to others around you. His spiritual gifts satisfy in only His ways. Allow His will to be done on earth. He gives generously and freely. His spiritual gifts are eternal. Pray about them, try them, find them, and by all means use them! You and those around you will receive gifts that you never thought you were capable of giving!
