Don’t you want to know?
When we were young we always needed answers. Children always ask “Why?” They ask questions like “Why did this happen; Why do we have to do that; Why is that; How come?” Even though we ask as children, the funny part of that questioning is we never really grow out of it. We begin to ask God the Father why things happen; why this trial; why that turn, or even why a certain death at a specific time?
Thankfully, God reveals answers to these questions, just not always in the time frame we desire or think is best. For that, we should say, “Thanks be to God I am not in charge!” His timing is perfect. Everything about God is perfect. When He reveals something, it isn’t a second before or a second after it must happen or occur.
At times, that can frustrate us because we are out of alignment with His will. He is not hiding anything from us. He protects us. He will reveal whatever we need to know at the right time so that it will appropriately glorify Him and draw us closer to Him.
Trust His timing to let us know something, anything, along our walk with Him. He is good, and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. This isn’t random, haphazard, or accidental. His will is done, and our obedience to it must be deliberate, intentional, and patient. That is a process of purification that no matter our circumstance, our experience, or our expectation, God is good. We must remain aware as He reveals His will to us because if we aren’t, we may miss it, even though He has placed it right in front of us.
The next time you ask God, “Why?” See what He has already done for you. See what He is doing for you. Expect Him to do more and pray that He reveals to you what He needs you to see in it. He most likely is looking to you to draw closer to Him, His will, and His desires for an obedient and most triumphant life in Him.
