Full court press

Although an effective tactic in the game of basketball where all players defensively play extremely close to their opponents, this can be simply defined as an all-out effort or offensive. One thing to remember each and every day and every moment of each day is that we are at war. We are at war!

We have the evilest of evils doing the very best he can to bring us to him, to pull us from Him, and to distance us from the love God has for us. The accusor, the evil one, the fallen angel, wants to take as many down with him to hell as possible. Satan, the antichrist, and the false prophet are the unequal counterparts to God, Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. All Satan wants is to press us to have no faith to begin with, give up our faith if we have it, and keep pressing us to remain apart from God. That is who the evil one is, and that’s what the evil one does. To not admit that and be keenly aware of that is to be pressed in doing just that.

But God is sovereign over Satan. He is! There is nothing and no power that outpresses God’s power and love for us. Satan doesn’t love us. He despises each one of us, and if he can affect us in any way, great or small, he’ll take it. This is war! But God always has been, always is, and always will be immeasurably more powerful than anything that has ever been, including Satan.

God gives us regularly golden opportunity after golden opportunity to come to Him, believe in Him through His Word, and receive salvation from Him. This is the ultimate protection from Satan, the antichrist, and the false prophet. God has pressed on us His seal, a seal of God that protects us so we may be emboldened and empowered to affect Satan and render him powerless. Because with God, death itself has no sting. Death isn’t the end. Death is the beginning.

Therefore, we have the God-given ability to full-court press Satan and his lies. We have the God-given power that makes Satan flee. This power is the Word of God. (Luke 4:13, Matthew 4:1-11, and Mark 1:12 and 13) One thing’s for sure, as God says, how we behave how we love, how we give, it will measured and we will receive that back. How are you pressing? Who are you pressing? Why are you pressing? If you aren’t pressing evil on the behalf of God at every moment and in every circumstance, you are losing ground in this war for souls.

Don’t let up and don’t give up. Press on. Keep the pressure on Satan through God’s Word, prayer, fellowship, worship, church attendance, pouring into others who are pouring into you and fulfilling the great commission from Matthew 28:18-20,

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying,

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Go to Him. Go for Him. Go with Him. Press on His Word and go full court press on in this supernatural war we are all called to participate. Go!
