Excuses, excuses & more excuses

Excuses, excuses, and more excuses…

How many times have excuses been made throughout one life? Excuses deflect responsibility. Excuses shun individual accountability. Excuses give false testimony. Excuses are lies spread over truth, dark obstructing light, evil in the face of good.

Who makes excuses along with mankind? The evil one, Satan, the serpent (Geneses 3:1-5). Satan is the accuser who planted a seed of doubt in Adam and Eve. He then makes excuses to cover that up over and over again until God is made unapproachable, unbelievable, untrustworthy, and unthinkable.

This is the goal of evil, to remove God’s love, sovereignty, grace, mercy, and the hope He has from all mankind resulting in a ruthless existence on earth, tossed here, and there. Ephesians 4:14 says,
As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of people, by craftiness in deceitful scheming.

At the same time, Christ Jesus affords mankind to be excused from God’s coming wrath by giving His sinless life willingly for our sinful lives so that we have no excuse. We are commanded as children of God to follow His will and His Word to be ultimately excused from sin and therefore need no excuse for the sin we have done or will ever do. In Christ, we are free from needing any excuses, for He wiped them away, all of them.

If you want to be without excuse, don’t follow the accuser who makes excuses every day by doubting God and then justifying poor choices because of that doubt. Rather, follow the words Christ Jesus, the excuser of all our sin, our shame, our blame, and our transgressions. He removed our need for excuses because he excused them all at once and for all time!

Scripture References

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
