Happy Mothers Day

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue-Proverbs 31:25-26

Mother’s are so powerfully important that they are mentioned in the bible at least 686 times. This is because they serve such a highly important purpose. Want to talk about impacting the world in powerful and miraculous ways?

-Giving birth and all that entails (Wow!)
‐Nursing an infant
-Physiological changes repeatedly over time
-Rearing an infant to independence
-Never truly detaching from the love and need to care for their child
-Loving in ways only a mother can, and no-one else
-Doing so much for others in her household, every single day
The list goes on, and on, and on!

Proverbs 31 speaks of the teaching, the patience, the sacrifice, and the love a mother has within her. It also demonstrates the charity, dedication, and devotion a mother has for others.
Proverbs 31:1-
* Special note – (It is believed that Lemuel is a nickname given to Solomon by his mother Bathsheba. Bathsheba wasn’t perfect, but she loved her family and instructed Solomon in godliness)*
1 The words of King Lemuel, the pronouncement which his mother taught him:
2 What, my son?
And what, son of my womb?
And what, son of my vows?
3 Do not give your strength to women,
Or your ways to that which destroys kings.
4 It is not for kings, Lemuel,
It is not for kings to drink wine,
Or for rulers to desire intoxicating drink,
5 Otherwise they will drink and forget what is decreed,
And pervert the rights of all the needy.
6 Give intoxicating drink to one who is perishing,
And wine to one whose life is bitter.
7 Let him drink and forget his poverty,
And remember his trouble no more.
8 Open your mouth for the people who cannot speak,
For the rights of all the unfortunate.
9 Open your mouth, judge righteously,
And defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Here is one more we all need reminded of:
Matthew 19:19
“HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER; and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.”
We would not be here without our mothers. God designed it this way. Even Christ Jesus had an earthly mother in Mary. Love her, honor her, respect her, and give back at least some of what she has given to you.
Tell your mother what she means to you, what she has done for you, and how much you appreciate her and love her. ?
