Integrity is a choice

Integrity is a choice

Integrity is something one must desire to be. It is not an ending it is a never-ending process that is to be pursued. Merriam Webster defines integrity as a firm adherence to a code of especially moral values, unimpaired, complete, and undivided. It could also be considered consistent in behavior that displays faith in God.

Do you choose integrity or deception? Do you choose integrity when it’s convenient and not when it’s inconvenient? That isn’t integrity because it must be demonstrated consistently over time. You won’t hear, “He/She has integrity most of the time.” No, if we choose to behave with integrity, it doesn’t wain, sleep, or rest. It becomes our identification by others.

C.S. Lewis said it powerfully, “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.” What do you do when no one is watching? Is it the same thing when everyone is watching? Whatever behavior you choose, God is watching. ‘

God sees everything, all the time and everywhere, even you. You may ask, “How is that?” Recall that God is Omniscient (all knowing), Omnipresent (all present), and Omnipotent (all powerful). We, most certainly, are none of those things. One more thing, neither is Satan!

God will always want what’s best for us, you, me, and every soul that ever was from womb, to cradle, to grave. We must ask, through all our trials and tribulations in this one life, “Do we want what’s best for us?” Integrity can be a powerful behavior to others and by putting God, Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit first and foremost in you mind, body, and soul, that love is seen as something brighter than anything else. The sun that shines forth from you is the Son who died for you.

Choose integrity by choosing God, Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit over everything else and all the time.
