Looking to me instead of looking to God

Looking to me instead of looking to God

Have you ever been betrayed or lied to? Has someone ever been unfaithful to you? If you have experienced this terrible situation, chances are you have been hurt by it. Chances are, you still recall it vividly. Chances are, when going through it, there is a high probability that in that period, you might have blamed yourself.

You looked inward to answer the questions, “Why did this happen to me? What did I do? What could I have done differently?” Although those could reveal the source, if someone has betrayed or been unfaithful to you, it could be that the person doing it is responsible for it. After all, they made that choice, didn’t they?

Have you betrayed or been unfaithful to another? A childhood friend, a coworker, or even worse, your spouse? What drove you to that point? What made you choose to hurt another soul in this life. It is most likely you were hurt and wanted them to hurt worse.

As has been said, “hurt people hurt people.” In both scenarios, we look to us, to me, to myself. If another has betrayed us or been unfaithful, the first thing we do is look at our fault in it. If we betray or are unfaithful to another, we are looking at it from our perspective solely.

Who and where we should always look to first is God. He is our Counselor. He is our Sustainer. He is our Savior. He is our one and only God. Nothing else ever on earth can be God.

Oh, we put a plethora of little gods in between God and us like first and foremost ourselves, but that doesn’t change who God is or what God does. Instead of looking to me all the time and how everything I experience impacts me, I must look to God all the time and what I do impacts Him.

The enthusiasm I have for your work matches your own. Your visual presentation is refined, and the content you’ve authored is of a high caliber. Nevertheless, you appear to be uneasy about the possibility of delivering something that may cause unease. I agree that you’ll be able to address this concern promptly.
