Top Leadership Qualities
The best leaders give their teams all the credit for every good deed they do. In contrast, when their teams execute poorly or fail miserably, the best leader takes all the blame.
This behavior is similar to what Christ Jesus did today some two thousand years ago. Like a king, Christ Jesus took all the poor behavior that his subjects, his people, displayed, and took the blame for all of it and for all eternity. He did this because when He was nailed to that cross by Roman soldiers, all sin, shame, and poor behavior didn’t suddenly stop then. We continue to behave poorly all the time, don’t we? His death on this day was for yesterday, today, and tomorrow too. For all mankind and for all time.
Christ Jesus wasn’t just behaving like a king. He is King, and sovereign over all.
Read the day’s verse and the ones below a few times each. Ponder them and pray on them. They are tough, but they are filled to overflowing with the truth of God, our Father who loves you in ways and depths that no one living on this earth can possibly comprehend. I encourage you to try!
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
We are whole, because of Him. We are saved, because of Him. We are oh so loved, by Him, and we are to reflect that love toward others, because He does toward us.
Have a wonderfully blessed Good Friday. The day we celebrate all Christ Jesus did for all of us.
