Faith is the foundation
What brings us closer to God? What draws us to Him? What enables us to have close fellowship with God? What is it that we must have in order to receive His blessed assurance, His hope, His strength, power, patience, and wisdom?
Faith. Faith in who He is. Faith in what He does. Faith in His plan and His will above any of ours, and faith that He will deliver us as He promises.
Hebrews 11 has been called “The Hall of Faith” because it provides a multitude of examples where seemingly ordinary folks like you and me trusted God. They placed their faith in God despite their own self-doubts, knowledge, and abilities. By their faith in Him, He was able to use them for His good purpose, which was and is anything they or us could have ever accomplished on our own. His power and sovereignty is absolute, and through faith we can be used as a tool for His kingdom and His glory.
Just because some folks don’t believe the word of God, doesn’t make it any less true. Just like because some folks who believe the lying words of man, don’t make them any more true.
To have God, Christ Jesus, and the implanted Holy Spirit, we must have complete faith in Him. God controls everything, and we can have faith in Him or faith in something else. Either way, we must make that effort.
Have faith in God.
