Children want to be near their parents
Why do children like to be near their parents? Is it because of their parent’s strength? Their wisdom? Their protection? Their knowledge? Their love? Yes! And so much more. Children are in awe of their parents at first. They then become accustomed to their rules and expectations. Kids then can come to think they know it all and don’t need their parents. The hope is that later in life, they come to understand what their parents were doing all along, loving them the best way they knew how.
Isaiah 41:10 says
Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will also help you, I will also uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
God wants you to be safe
This is the strength, wisdom, protection, and knowledge of God, The Father. He wants only the best for you. He wants you to feel safe. He wants you to be fearless. He wants you to be strong in Him. He wants to help you and hold you up. Simply put, God wants you because He loves you.
What will you do with that knowledge? Squander it away like a child? Go the other way like a rebellious teen? Stand in judgement because with your limited experiences, you know best? All these actions would be preferred to the evil one, by the way. Or will you draw nearer to The Father as a child does to a parent. Will you be in awe of His strength to protect you. Will you be humbled by His overwhelming wisdom, knowledge, and love for you?
Trust in Him
I choose the latter by remembering He wants me. He loves me. He wants the best for me always. Today, choose to trust Him, believe what He says. Look up and rest in His strength. You are all He desires, you!
