You can’t do it
Years ago, while a young boy grew up, life circumstances proved overwhelmingly difficult. A child of divorce made custody battles and emotionally charged visitations unbearable for a kid with no tools in the box to successfully manage. Blaming himself for things for which he had no control over became the norm. It was a defeating existence prone to drugs, alcohol, sex, and suicide. “I can’t do it” was labeled for almost everything in that young kid’s life.
His mother, who was at times a pillar of strength, would tell him, “If you think you can’t, you won’t.” At the time, that was hard for a youth to understand as a victim with no victory. Then, that young man accepted Christ, and everything changed.
Scripture reminds us time and again that God is sovereign over all. God is in charge, and although He allows us free will to come and go with Him, He won’t force us. He will give us circumstances to know He is real if we pay attention. But God won’t allow us to do what He can do through us.
God won’t provide us with opportunities to be prideful of ourselves or be boastful for things He has done like healing, revelation, and hope for an eternity with Him. This provides the humility, fellowship, and relationship with Him that we can’t take credit for. Simply put, “You can’t do it” because we aren’t God.
Salvation is another process we can’t administer or take credit for. God, and only God, can administer that, and He did so beautifully and completely with the birth, life, death, resurrection, and ascension of His one and only Son Christ Jesus. Man can’t do that.
What else can’t man not do? Create the heavens and the earth, or destroy the heavens and the earth. Sure, we can try, but God was, is, and forever will be the ultimate authority over all things, good and bad, high and low, far and near, and past and future eternally. You can’t do it, so why fret over it?
Give God the Father the glory and praise for Him, who He is, and what He does. He loves you and will deliver you if you abide in Him as He resides within you. You can’t do it, but with God, anything is possible!

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
