Are your actions causing someone else to stumble?

Are you causing another one to stumble? Scripture tells us time and again, that we are not to make choices that cause others to fall, stumble, or sin.

1 Corinthians 8:13
Therefore, if food causes my brother to sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause my brother to sin.

Romans 14:21
It is good not to eat meat or to drink wine, or to do anything by which your brother or sister stumbles.

For example, as a member of a church body where you have friends in Christ Jesus, you decide to go to a local bar or eatery and have a few alcoholic drinks. You have a few too many and get a little tipsey. You think nothing of it, and say in your mind, “That was fun,” or, “No one got hurt.” However, what you didn’t see was a brother or sister in Christ Jesus that has been battling alcoholism was also there and witnessed your decisions. They know you and by your display of “a few too many,” speaks to them in such a way that they decide, “If my friend can do it, then why can’t I?”

Don’t think for a moment that Christ Jesus does not see, know, and understand the choices you make.

We have thousands of choices we make each day and probably many we don’t even think about; choices of food we eat, liquid we drink, decisions made while driving, while at work, during lunch time, in meetings, at home, at the grocery store, etc.

Christ Jesus knows.

Having this knowledge, what decisions will you make today for Him, decisions that won’t provide the opportunity for anyone in your sphere of influence to fall, stumble or sin??
