The Lord Said

The Lord said.

Those who truly believe every word of God in the bible believe God spoke everything we experience into existence. God spoke, and it became. God spoke, and something was formed from nothing. God spoke, and Adam and Eve were. We are all here because God said.

God also speaks to us. Yes, the creator of everything where nothing exists without Him speaking it into existence, He speaks to us, reveals to us, teaches us, and commands us to behave by what He said. God says it through circumstances. God says it in experiences we face. God speaks to us through others. God speaks to us through scripture. In fact, “God says” and “Lord says” occurs in scripture almost a thousand times. Think He’s saying something?

One example can be found in Isaiah 43:16 and 43:18-19,
This is what the LORD says, He who makes a way through the sea And a path through the mighty waters, “Do not call to mind the former things, Or consider things of the past. Behold, I am going to do something new, Now it will spring up; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.

Would you rather live in your painful past, the hurt you received from others, or a previous victory or success? God says we shouldn’t even consider them. Because He will do something new in us when we don’t recall all the past baggage. He will forge a path, a roadway, a sure way to get through a foliage laden wilderness. A wilderness filled with uncertainty will be made certain as we forge ahead with Him as our guide, our teacher, our idol, our mentor, and our father.  He will make Rivers in the desert. He will provide for us when we have nothing, when we cross a barren desert of uncertainty where we can’t see the other side. He will make a river to nourish us, hydrate us, replenish us, and allow us to forge on ahead. We will be made new through it!

As we forge ahead in a new year, take time to reflect on the prior year to learn and grow from the experiences in it. Learn from those today and leave them behind where God says they should stay.

But Jesus said to him, “No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Luke 9:62

Be like Christ Jesus who remains as He was created, the Son of God, who glorifies the Father, who forgives every sin ever done to Him and by anyone. Be like Christ Jesus who has mercy, grace, and favor for everyone, even those we might think have done absolutely nothing to earn it, because we didn’t either! Be like Christ Jesus who loves each and every soul so much that he willingly died to save them. Be consistent in Him, constant for Him, and convicted and converted through his word so you can have the compassion He has for you for others. ?

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, and forever.
Hebrews 13:8
